I thought I would start to capture the process we are going through in building the house on Lake Keowee so we can look back at some point and remember everything that went into building our house.

Tasks for the week
Landscaping
We met with the landscape architect this week to start going through the initial plans. This was a meeting Anne was especially looking forward to. It was very exciting to start talking about the initial layout of the landscaping and start to get a visualization of how everything will look. The next step is for the landscape architect to come up with a more detailed plan and budget for our review.
Flooring
The flooring saga continues. Who knew that trying to pick a floor would be this difficult? After looking at the different options we decided that we want to go with engineered hardwood. You would think after deciding on engineered hardwood, picking the color would be next, but you would be wrong.
Build Progress
We have begun the framing stage of the build.
They started adding steel in the first garage bay because the music room will be built under that space. I’m curious how they will lay the garage concrete slab across the entire garage now. One thing I noticed is I will probably lose a bit of ceiling height in that room.
